Rubik Snake clone using length of 20lb monofilament line for tension. About 25cm long. Print Settings Printer: Flashforge Dreamer Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 20% Notes: Printed in ABS. Two layers top and bottom for links. Four layers top and bottoms for buttons so that they would be mostly solid. Print "links 1" and "button" in first color. Print "links 2" and "button" in second color. Post-Printing Assembley Place the links in order and then thread the monofiliment line through them one way, then through the holes in one button, then back through the links the other way. Cut the line leaving enough to tie, thread both ends through the second button, and tie knot while pulling line taught. How I Designed This I had printed http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:31253 but found with my print the pins didn't hold the links tight enough for the snake to hold shape. Recalled Rubik's Magic used monofiliament and thought it might work for this as well, which it does fairly well. Designed this in AutoCAD 123D. Used Simplify3D for gcode.
