This is a snap fit case for a cheap DIY tube amplifier soldering kit that comes as a bare PCB.

I got the amp to go between a Bose 2.1 speaker and even older record player. The amp is fun to look at and the sound is ... ok. It also needs a ground loop isolator. For the price it's not going to please any audiophiles.

I printed the case in "clear" PETG and after lots of attempts I can get it sort of translucent. The goal was to see the components inside but for the most part you can only see the LEDs. From Slic3r PE I changed the angle of the infill to be in the same direction as the edges (the default is tilted 45 degrees) this helps it be as translucent as possible.

I uploaded the fusion 360 file so go nuts and remix it if you can do better.

Print instructions

Category: Audio Print Settings

Printer Brand: Prusa

Printer: i3 MK3

Rafts: No

Supports: No

Resolution: .1

Infill: 100%

Filament: Inland PETG clear
Notes:

Front, back, and top are pretty straight forward.

The bottom plate needs to be printed on its side, tall and skinny, with a brim. Fan on high since it has some slight over hangs.

The text on the front and back plates will come out better if you use a .25mm nozzle instead of a .4mm. I did that for one iteration and it looked better but I forgot to change back to .25 for the last iteration. Contact me if you want a plate without any text.
