Front-loading spool system for the Snapmaker J1. There are already some other designs available, but I wanted a (non adjustable) one-size solution with support for wide spools and plenty of clearance toward the extruder parking tray and the build-plate. Also I wanted to reuse the original screws for mounting the spool-holders.For this design per side you need.......to print:2x side-panel (flat)1x base (flat)2x bushing (upright)2x washer (flat, optional)PTFE Hose Guide (optional; see below).. the following parts:2x 6mm rods ~ 87mm in length. Tips sanded for easy fit and rounded for low friction at contact point with side-panels.4x 696ZZ bearings6x self driving screws M2x164x self driving screws M2x12approx 1,20m low friction (reverse) PTFE tube (preferably inner diameter >= 2mm)Most parts can be printed lying. The bushing must be printed upright. All parts can be printed in copy-mode. Exception: The filament-passthrough I took from another design is one STL for both sides. It's a bummer, I know...The washers are optional. My make runs better without them. Depending on the level of calibration of your print-setup you might need to use a 6mm drill to widen the 6mm hole of the bushing to be able to slip it onto the rod.Update 26.11.2023:I designed a replacement for the original PTFE-Tube-Guide. This one has wide slots so the tubes can go through without being squeezed. You can try it without first, and if you feel a stronger resistance when pushing the filament through that spot, then use this replacement. It fits with the original screws.I also recommend placing the spool holders in the rear of the cabinet and shorten the PTFE-tube. Assembly should be pretty self-explanatory. if not, reach out to me. I printed it in PETG with 30% infill.
