Snips Cover

Snips Cover

prusaprinters

This is a snap on protective cover for the snips / cutters provided with most 3D printers. Will it fit your snips? If your snips have a central rivet that is 7mm on one side and 4mm the other side, then probably.
The cover snaps into place and leaves the compression spring under no tension. To remove simply open the snips to full and the cover eases off, or if your snip design doesn't do that then alternatively just pull off. The cover is canted to allow for the angle of the snip blades.

There are two snip-cover variants:

If the distance between the top of your snip handles and the outside edge of the 7mm side of the rivet is ≥15mm use the LONG cover.

If the distance between the top of your snip handles and the outside edge of the 7mm side of the rivet is <15mm use the SHORT cover.

Prints stood on its ‘open’ end. No support required. I used PETG printing at 240/85 first layer, then 250/90 for the remainder, with an outer brim.
