The human body is made up of approximately 60% water, which is a crucial component that helps to regulate our body temperature and maintain proper bodily functions. The brain, which weighs in at around 2 pounds, accounts for only about 2% of the total body weight but consumes a significant portion of our daily caloric intake. The heart, on the other hand, pumps out over 1.5 million barrels of blood every year, equivalent to enough fuel to power 20 school buses for an entire year. Our skin is responsible for removing toxins from the body and regulating body temperature, while our lungs breathe in oxygen and expel carbon dioxide with each breath. Despite making up only about 10% of our total body weight, our brain plays a vital role in controlling our thoughts, emotions, and movements.
