Snow Tree

Snow Tree

thingiverse

Initially, I tried to create snowflake using fractal function. Then I extruded the snowflake to 3d. The Snow Tree is what I eventually achieved. Looking topdown, each layer of the tree is added a recursion loop, simulating the growing branch. Two main parameters that worth to play with are the scale/speed of the fractal/growth and the angels of new branched. For the scale, 1 is central and average, the rest show either divergency or convergency. The angle should be relevant to the initial branches. For example, if setting 6 branched/60degree angel in the beginning, using the same symmetrical rotation angle (-60,0,60)is good. In addition, please don’t try a high recursion times like above 10. And to avoid a fragile print, don’t set too thin. Finally, light it up with leds, paint it or just put it on desk.
