Soap Pump Tube

Soap Pump Tube

thingiverse

I needed to replace a soap dispenser pump tube (the part that goes from the top into the liquid soap). Maybe you can buy such a thing but surely it's hard to find... and it happens to be one of those times (any winter month between 2020-2022) when we didn't really want to go into a crowded store. Making a tube model is no big deal. But when you try to print it the dimensions are wrong and, very likely, it will fall over (because it's very narrow and very tall and the force of the extruder on the top is enough to push it off the base). This is really not about the tube itself but about how to print long skinny things: on their side with support. Briefly: 1) Turn it on it's side. 2) Raise it up ~1.5 mm 3) Have a .5mm (1-2 layer) square piece under it. 4) Print with supports 5) Remove the supports. 6) Put it in a drill, spin it and sand it to get the burs off. 7) Drill the supports out of the interior. I've included the openscad file (pretty simple, really) so you can make a tube of any dimension.
