Sock Assist

Sock Assist

myminifactory

This object is designed to be an assistive aid for putting on socks that share a similar concept to the one I have here cost $10-$30 (See this website for commercial sock aids https://www.arthritissupplies.com/search.asp?keyword=sock&search=). The design I made can be printed for under $5 ($4.24 for just matieral cost) when printed carefully (proper supports and infill). There are quite a few different concepts of sock assisits out there, here I made one that was 3D printable, did not require other material and is durable as well as cheap. Athough the aid works, it is better used on carpet so it doesn't slide around while trying to put the sock on. The design can be improved to help steady the aid while in use I had larger plans but ran out of time. I printed this aid in PLA with an infill of 50%. To fit my printer I printed the disign at 90% scale size but the full scale verson is comparable to current designs on the market.
