Solar Finder

This solar finder will fit a standard Orion/Synta finder scope mounting shoe. Remove your finder scope or red dot finder and insert this in its place to easily point your telescope at the sun while using a safe solar filter. DO NOT POINT ANY TELESCOPE AT THE SUN WITHOUT A PROPER FILTER! The main finder part can be printed at standard quality (0.2mm layer height). No supports needed. Recommend printing the viewing screen at 0.12mm layer height with clear or translucent filament. The window is 2 layers (0.24 mm) thick, with a 2.4mm high crosshair on layers 3-4. I change from clear to black filament on layer 3. This produces a nice translucent white screen with black crosshairs for easy solar alignment of your telescope. The screen should fit snugly into/over the large opening on the finder. You may need to scale the size of the screen slightly larger or smaller if your printer does not produce a good fit. There is an index tab on the screen that fits into a notch on the finder to align the crosshairs. vertically when pressing the parts together.
