Solar Light 4x6 Post Adapter

This is an adapter to attach a Hampton Bay solar post-cap light to the top of a 4x6 post. The lights only come with standard 4x4 and 6x6 post size adapters, but of course I don't have standard-sized posts. Instructions The adapter was designed in three separate parts to allow for printing without the need for supports; there is a base, an insert, and the tabs. Print the base and insert flat-side down, and the tab part goes on its side. I printed the tab part at the same time as the base by putting in the middle cut-out area. Once all three pieces are printed, the tabs go into the insert, and the insert goes into the base. Note: you will most likely have to sand down the top ridge on the insert to get it all the way into the base as I made my tolerances super-tight. Habit. Sorry. Once assembled, the tabs will go into the bottom of the light in the same way the kit adapters do: put the tabs in the larger part and twist counter-clockwise to lock into place. If you have problems getting the tabs into the light without the light pushing the tabs back through the insert, you could use some glue to keep them fully extended. I didn't have to, but I could see that being an issue. I did NOT design in any screw holes as the attachment to the post can be done in different ways. I heated a small nail and pushed it through the plastic where I wanted holes. Note 2: As is with most building materials, a 4x6 post is not actually 4x6, but rather 3.825x5.5 or some variant of that. Be aware of that if you go to change the object -- measure your posts!! :-) If you're wondering about the concentric pattern on the outer layers, I sliced the parts using Simplify3D which has that option for solid-layer infill.
