This is a kit for the leading edge mount for roof mounted solar panels on a motorhome or other vehicle (in the pictures it's a horse lorry!) The mounts are not structural! You must attach solar panels solidly to the roof of a moving vehicle! The principle is... You must leave an air-gap behind a solar panel to stop them overheating, so the easy way is to get 65mm angle bar, which will leave a 25mm gap behind the panel for air-flow. However you really don't want high speed air getting under the panel whilst you are driving along and ripping the panel off! These parts provide a modular wind shroud that you Sikaflex (structural silicon) to the front of the panel once you have mounted the panel with 65mm aluminium angle. You will see many of these on ebay that are injection moulded. I still wouldn't use them structurally, solar panels need a good solid mounting! Updates as I added the wrong plain mount, this one has an angled shelf to help with bridging a 5% fill! Instructions The shrouds have been designed to print 2 up on a Davinci 1.0 I print them at 100mm/s on 0.25mm layer and 5% infill (yes... 5%) Using a 10 line skirt will stop it warping and lifting. 3 layer top and bottom, 2 layer wall 230deg hot end 90deg bed. At 5% infill they use about 100g of filament and take 2 hours each to print. For a standard 1m panel you need 1 each of the each of the corners and 5 of the plain mounts... 12 hours printing!
