Sunscreen for outdoor temperature sensor. Ever wondered about far too high values from your outdoor temperature sensor? This is due to the thermal radiation, which can be minimized by a white shield. The sensor should ideally be placed some distance away from buildings and tarmac in about 2m height. I use a technoline TX 22 with my WS1600 weather station. My sensor now shows about 10 degrees celsius less than before, where it was located under the roof in the shadow. The parts can be stacked, so you can make it fit with about any height or scale it to your needs. I added a second version w stl files labeled as V2, a FEM picture and a cut picture from the CAD system. The shields have no free gaps any more where the radiation from the downside could get through. I think this matters if you install the shield on you roof like i did. The holder is also much stronger and the screens thinner since i noticed the screens to be quite heavy. The joining parts now have flat sides for better sliding in and a little bit of pretension. The lowest shield Needs to be cut out a little, because it is colliding with the holder. Maybe i change that later... Have fun! July 2019: I added a new holder with much more torsion stiffness, since my original design was a little bit unstable against high wind load.
