Solder Cableholder with Weights

Solder Cableholder with Weights

I printed the original Cableholder and thought it was great, but a little light. I modified the file in 123dDesign to allow lead weights to be put in the bottom. I then scavenged some lead from surplus lead wall anchors and built a form from light aluminum. The indentations are 20mm X 30 mm X 5mm. I then heated the lead in the form with a propane torch till it melted. When cooled, I popped the lead rectangle out. I then reheated the lead a bit to get it hot enough to melt the PLA, but not hot enough to melt the lead. I dropped the lead rectangle into the indentation and quickly turned it upside down and pressed it flush into the cableholder. **Do not attempt to do this if you are unfamiliar with molten lead and open flame.
