Simple Soldering Fan (200mm) ============================== ====================================================================== I've got a lot of soldering for an upcoming project and wanted a fan to pull the smoke / fumes away from my face and the part I'm working on. I whipped this part up to fit a 200mm PC fan I had and it works great. The vertical fan mount sits at a 5º negative camber. I tried to minimize plastic (and print time). The base keeps the fan plenty stable. This is NOT a suitable replacement for a proper fume extractor. If you solder all the time - investing in a fume extractor is probably a good idea. That said, I'm a hobbyist and this works for my occasional soldering projects. I printed this standing up so it would fit on my MK3s - if you have a printer with a larger print surface you could easily print it on it's face. Despite printing with a brim I had one edge come up a little causing some layer shifts towards the top of one side. It wasn't enough to affect hole alignment so I didn't re-print. Some glue stick or hairspray would probably help.
