Solder Fumes Extractor Fan

Solder Fumes Extractor Fan

Found a few designs for a solder fumes extractor fan on Thingiverse. I wanted one that can change the filter easily so I designed my own. The filter holder will take the common 5.1" x 5.1" filter pads while the base will take a 120 mm fan. I had an old 120V AC fan handing around so I used it here along with a switch for control. This is the largest object I have printed on my Wanhao i3 almost taken up the whole build plate area. Printing the base took over +12hrs at 0.2 mm layer height. You can use the fan in either vertical or horizontal direction. The base have openings allowing air to go to the filter pads. The extra parts you will need beyond the printed parts are: 120 mm fan. I used on that that 25 mm thick 5 1/8" x 5 1/8" x 3/8" solder extractor filter pads Qty 4 - M4 35mm bolts , nuts and washer Qty 1 - #8 1/2" screw to hold the filter in place
