This is my take on soldering third hands. I have been using a lot of them and non would fit my needs. Theese are magnetic to stick to my metal working surface and springloaded so it is easy to operate them with just one hand. On the top there is hexagonal hole to insert some accessories (like crocodiles on twisted wire, or a paper clip). On the moving springloaded part there are two holes so you can grab on wires and hold PCB's with it. Base is equipped with thread to screw in M3 screw through some holed magnet (rounded 15mm wide and 10mm tall works great) or you can snap in a little "Prusa" one with 8mm in diameter and 3mm tall.

To assemble you will need one M3x40-M3x50 screw to hold the parts together with the spring and one M3x20 if you want to screw in the magnet. The spring I have used is half of the ones in clicky pens. But you can use any spring which will fit on M3 screw.

Assembly video here:

<oembed url="https://youtu.be/_v7dtBzv3vA"></oembed>

TODO:
Move the aligning pin between top and center piece between center and base pieceCreate base with M4 thread only
Create base with M3 thread onlyCreate base with hole for 8x3 round magnet only

Print instructions

I have printed mine with PLA but I could imagine something like ASA will maybe last longer.
