Soldering Station

Soldering Station

Soldering station for Fab Lab and maker spaces Ever felt like every time you want to solder you spend too much time gathering all the tools and as a result spend less time on creating something cool ? Ever find yourself frustrated looking for tools in random places in this beautiful communal chaos that is a Fablab ? The project started as a discussion with Gregory Perrin at Eastern Bloc's Artist Lab in Montréal, we wanted a better solution for lab members to access and store soldering tools. Working as a Fablab Technician in secondary school, this need became even more obvious as the larger number of users drastically increased the need. This project is my attempt to adress it by taking Greg's tray idea and designing a standalone easy to store soldering station that has limited counter space occupency. It is specific to the tools Collège de Montréal were using but the idea can easily be adapted to your FabLab's tools and usages.
