This is a case and a tip holder for a high-quality soldering station. Based on a commercially available soldering tip with built-in temperature sensor this device is the perfect station for soldering even demanding SMT components. The whole project is described in detail on my website: http://www.oe1cgs.at/smd-loetstation/ (Deutsch) I printed the individual parts in two colours (black and red) as I think this looks nicer. PLA does the job for me as the station is typically used indoors. However it can be powered by a 12 V battery, so it can be used literally "in the field". In addition to the printed parts, the soldering tip and all the electronics you will need: Bill of material: 4 self-tapping screws 3x12 mm 4 self-tapping screws 3x6 mm 2 Screws M2.5x20 mm and nuts Tube (I used stainless steel) 12 mm out diameter and 45 mm long This tube is glued into the tip holder and protects the tip from accidental contact (or the other way round ;)). The bottom of the tip holder is designed to be filled with water which greatly increases its stability.
