Re-configuring Solidoodle Press 8x8 4 axis printer as a simplified hatch box type heated bed additive layering CNC machine. The new design will feature precise calibration for belt tension, bed leveling, frame-truing and an option left open for a secondary belt driven Z-axis lead screw actuator. A Solidoodle-Press harbors four stepper motors, end stops, auto level end stop, lights, fans, heating elements(heated bed, and extruder head assembly), belts, pulleys, hardware and rods. i wanted to design something more bulletproof than the Solidoodle press design with its parts already at hand, it is designed using the old designs Z bed as the frame this is by all means an experimental design, and a work in progress, will update files as the build develops towards flawlessness. Replacing mother board with something later on. thought id like to share this idea for those who have a dysfunctional Solidoodle press sitting around collecting dust and want to make something badass with it. Any kind of Donations for design development would be awesome.
