Solidoodle Printrboard Dual Fan Cover Plate

Solidoodle Printrboard Dual Fan Cover Plate

An electronics cover plate for the new solidoodle printrboard electronics with press fit mounts for two 40mm fans. I wanted to have easy access to the pots for setting vref in case I ever need to do that, so I preserved the original solidoodle access holes and made the fans simply slide in so they can be removed without unscrewing the cover plate. Note: Trying to press a fan down into the clips is likely to break one or the other. Sliding them in until they seat in the 40mm square depression works much better. Instructions I found that printer calibration is important for this, since a small calibration test (like one of the nickle calibrators) won't necessarily allow you to see an error that can build up across the width of something bigger like this plate. I used an all-in-one device scanner to scan in the original solidoodle cover plate so I could pick off all the hole positions and sizes in gimp, then after printing a copy of this that didn't work because I was out of calibration, I scanned in the bad copy and used gimp to see how much I needed to scale in the X and Y directions to fit correctly. Changed the settings in the firmware by that percentage, and was able to print the final copy with holes that line up exactly.
