Solidworks Configurable Circular HelixFor modeling a set of configurable small fluid seals i needed a conifigurable round helix.Its is done as follows:Create a set of Global Variables:SCD spring center diameterid coil inner diameterN turnst wirethicknessIn a 3D sketch, start a equation driven curve:x=("SCD"+"id"*cos("N"*t))*cos(t)y=("SCD"+"id"*cos("N"*t))*sin(t)z="id"*sin("N"*t)t1=-pit2=0.999*piInsert a design table whith reference to the variables:$VALUE@N@EQUATIONS$VALUE@SCD@EQUATIONS$VALUE@id@EQUATIONS$VALUE@t@EQUATIONSImportant: for size changes you have to slect each configuration and enter and exit the equation driven curve.For change of wirethickness you need to fill in the "t" agian in the sweep function.Save and rebuild does not do it.Hope this is usefull, enjoy modelling!
