SolidWorks Version of Cyborg Beast

SolidWorks Version of Cyborg Beast

thingiverse

This is a work in progress!!! This is a version of the Cyborg Beast modeled in SolidWorks. The point to making a SolidWorks version was to clean up the model a bit and allow infinite scaling of the parts that need to be fitted, while keeping the hardware sized to standard sizes. Note: I remove old files from this posting to reduce confusion. If there is a previous version you need, I have them all archived so just ask. 2014-05-28: In an effort to give the most freedom to the end user, I have adjusted joint sizing to a "standard" size of .25" slot and .22" tendon. This matches the Creo design: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:340750 Removed supports, the palm prints pretty well without any support. There are some strings, but these will be covered with padding and Velcro. 2014-05-27: Updated the model for improved performance. With the exception of "Fingers-Cyborg_Beast_1.2(MarcPetrykowski).STL" the STL files are saved in a 65mm compatiable size. For those who would like to try these fingers on an existing hand, I have posted fingers with the mating components equal to the source file. The file "Fingers-Cyborg_Beast_1.2(MarcPetrykowski).STL" contains all 5 fingers. The zip file contains the SolidWorks files for those who are interested in creating other sizes or modifying components. To get the left palm, mirror the right. 2014-05-23: Updated files to correct some geometry on fingers that did not slice well. Added variable length fingers and proximal phalanges. Added support for palm and thumb, and fingertips. Printed palm, and the support came off so easily I question if it is even necessary under the palm. Caution when scaling, the supports are very poorly done and these will need to be corrected when scaling. 2014-05-19: First release of Solidworks2010 model of Cyborg Beast. This is a VERY rough version. Design tables are incomplete, and larger sizes have not been debugged yet, but the structure is there. Feedback is requested. SolidWorks files are in ZIP folder, STL files are individual for reference. The .zip file contains the Solidworks2010 Files only. Instructions See source thing for instructions etc. I am better at drawing than writing up descriptions, and the instructions that came before me are much better than I have the time to write up.
