Sony 24-105mm Zoom Gear Ring

I use my camera on a motion control rig that requires the ability to drive the lens rings with stepper motors. I've purchased some of the so called "one size fits all" options and I've never been impressed with them. I wanted a cleaner looking ring with a parametric design, so I can quickly create variants for different lenses. This is not the parametric solidworks file but if your lens has an 80mm barrel for the focus or zoom, this lens gear should work nicely for you. The gear standard is what you would expect for a lens gear, which is 0.8 mod. Gear width is 15mm and there are 120 teeth on the gear. The overall outside diameter of the gear is 97.6mm. The outside diameter has a slight bulge at the clamp opening. This is to make the M4 bolt mount and the threaded side of the gear stronger. Yes, this design has 3D printed threads so you'll need an M4x10 allen head to secure it to your lens. I get mine from Amazon. The threads are very strong and can easily handle the clamping force necessary for most smooth turning lenses. Soon I'll release the parametric Solidworks file here, only because the only Solidworks parametric gear files I could find here either, don't work with Solidworks 2011 OR the tooth profile is not a true involute tooth.
