Video of the print in action:

<oembed url="https://youtu.be/3Ylyi1jZjSI"></oembed>

The Sony A7II doesn't have an option to set a custom button to the Menu+Back function. I've found this quite annoying as it is also the button to back out of submenus.

This hotshoe attachment transfers the Menu button to the right side where it's easily reachable with your shutter finger. This is a non-intrusive mod, no modification of the camera needed.

Should be compatible with the a7RII and a7SII as they have the same body as the a7II, AFAIK. Other cameras might need adjustment, if the manufacturer moved around the menu button. I heard the newer Sony models might have the option to bind a button to the Menu function, but I have no first hand experience with this.

The model uses a compliant mechanism to transfer the motion. The print is optimized to be printed in the model's original orientation and it is designed for a 0.4 nozzle (0.45mm line width). The flexures are a single line thick, so the flexures will disappear if sliced with a line width any larger than this. I recommend PETG and it is also what I used to print the model. I suspect PLA should also work, but I haven't tried. The print requires supports “Everywhere”, not just “Build plate only”, and I had nice results with a 0.07 “Top contact Z distance” on my Prusa MINI.

There is some room for optimization in the model, as this is only the first working prototype, but it already works quite reliably.

Have fun with it! :)
