Sony Action Cam Drone mount Update Ver. 3.0

thingiverse

This is a mount i made for my Sony action cam to fit on top of my Versacopter V2. due to the action cam's longer profile it wasn't fitting as nicely as say a gopro. Update: Version 3 is up! it now has a loop with a pretty tight tolerance that fits the camera perfectly, don't even need a velcro strap anymore. It seems that double sided tape doesn't stick very well to TPU. To compensate for that i put a couple zip ties through the front holes on the camera mount and through the body of the drone because i had the mount fly off after a crash. The camera however stayed in the mount proving it's functionality. Update: Made a version 2. This time i removed all the plastic from the bottom so the velcro strap can simply wrap around the entire piece and not have to go through the small holes. also made the back piece where the camera sits against thicker because a crash proved it was too thin. Print Settings Printer Brand: LulzBot Printer: TAZ 6 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: .25 Infill: 20% Notes: Print vertically with the front of the mount on the build plate. I printed with TPU. Post-Printing To strap it to drone If you wanna add a velcro strap to it just wrap it around the bottom in the middle and over the camera, super simple. for my drone i just used a piece of automotive molding tape to hold it onto the frame and a couple zipties through the front square holes. How I Designed This i used maya to make this, found some measurements for the action cam and just fit the case design around it.
