Much improved version of the Sony HDRAS15 TripodCase by ViniG. Changes include: 1) Flimsy latch bar that breaks off easily replaced by elevated bump that's part of and flexes with case sidewall to snap camera into place. 2) Bottom of case reinforced by rejoining the curve. 3) Mic and USB access windows added. Requires removal of the acc'y cover. 4) Large open side face reinforced by converting to smaller beveled openings. Tendency was to warp if exposed to sunlight. 5) Lowered the front wall rim making it easier to push the camera out with fingertip without touching the lens. 6) Stretched the vertical dimension by 1mm. Original was too tight, causing wear on the camera housing. Did not allow for extra bulge of the acc'y cover. Some play is perfectly fine. Snap on wind screen and lens protector coming soon! Print Settings Rafts: No Supports: Doesn't Matter Resolution: 0.1 Infill: 30% Notes: Printed with PLA, tip 210C, 80mm/S, bed 60C, 0.4mm nozzle, 1.2mm walls/top/bottom, 0.2mm 1st layer, 0.18mm horizontal support gap. Prints well without raft. I like supports but they can be a PITA to remove. 1.2mm shell thickness makes the case walls solid. Glossy finish on the front looks real nice. I'm including my gcode sample with all settings. How I Designed This Imported STL to Sketchup with "merge coplaner faces". Modified and export to DAE. Open DAE in Cura and export gcode for printer. All work done in Xubuntu linux 14.04/15.04 with Sketchup running in Wine 1.7. Proud to be 100% Microsoft free.
