This is a cradle mount for the flash shoe on a camera or camera cage. It's designed to hold the Sony UX560 voice recorder oriented in the same direction as the lens. This allows you to use the Sony as an external audio recorder for cameras with poor built-in audio. The Sony UX560 has excellent audio capability, external mic input, and audio monitor out, so you can sync your audio in-camera. This has a 1/4-20 thread modeled into the mount so you can put a 1/4-20 socket head cap screw (allen head) bolt in, to retain the mount in the shoe.
