Sony NEX-7 Cable Remote Adapter

The NEX-7 is a great camera, but it does have some shortcomings. One of them is that you have to hold down the trigger when doing bracketing shots. This is a problem when you are doing it at night with long exposure times, because it will introduce camera shake and make your pictures blurry. You also cannot use the IR remote to trigger the bracketing shots. Maybe Sony will fix this in a later firmware release, but for now this Thing will provide a solution. Instructions You will need to buy a cable release and one of those velcro adapters to go with it. I bought mine from Amazon (http://goo.gl/fmeA6O) but I am sure you can get them from a lot of places. You will have to remove the metal adapter from the velcro strap. It must be one that you can screw apart. The hole in the Thing is for a 1cm diameter. Yours may be different, in which case you need to change the OpenSCAD file to your measurements. The ring fits very snug around the base of the lens flange. It is best to remove the lens when attaching the adapter to the camera.
