The battery can be inserted in either direction. This allows you to use the indicators. The indicator has a 18.6mm over hang. The over range actually helps to remove the battery. I've printed it and it works well. These Sony NP-F batteries are used in a lot of electronics that don't have their own proprietary battery. I use them in my camera lights.
