Sony RX100m1 shutter release & centering ring

A friend of mine wanted to use the BULB mode to shoot night scenes on his RX100M1. It doesn't accept any electric shutter release, and so this is what I came up with. It allows him to lock the shutter down for as long as he wants. With a less sturdy tripod it might still be necessary to cover the lens before and after, incase of movement.

Shout out to Motorpixiegimbals on Thingiverse for the centering ring adapter, saved me lots of time.

There is a through-hole on the bolt so that it might work with a mechanical shutter release trigger. If somebody has one and can spec the threads, I'd love to integrate that compatibility.

It uses a small taper head M3 bolt & heat set insert for the knob, but it functions without. Some droop on the bridging but it works just fine.

For a loose fit, I scaled down the screw portion at 99%, but a dialed printer should work too.

Post-Printing

Heat set an insert into the knob, use a screw to secure it in place. I put some loctite on there so that the knob and screw spin freely.
