If the stepper motor stops once the print starts, there may be a chance that the current of the stepper driver is too low for the new motor. In this case, you may need to increase the current by turning the screw next to the stepper driver. To do this, use a multimeter to measure the VREF value and increase it to the same level as the X and Y stepper motors.
