Space invader (ice cube) molds - Tiled

They're the overlords of the 8 bit universe - on the rocks. They're also connectable to create your custom ice mold sheet. If your cocktail party approves, feel free to flattr this design or any derivatives. This is also a derivative of http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3647 - the home world of the space invaders. Instructions Nope, sorry - they don't work (yet?). I am just publishing this to get it out of my head and give others the chance to fix it. The surface structure of a 3D print just offers too much structure for the ice to cling to, so you will have a hard time to get them out of their mold intact. Also, the molds are quite solid this way. Print with no raft, three base layers and three lines of perimeter for optimal waterproofness. Remove artefacts. Fill with aqueous substance of choice. Transfer to solid state. To work with the SCAD file, download the respective invader models from thing:3647. You might want to experiment a bit with the model, material, scaling, bottom layer sizes etc. to actually get a model that is both stable and waterproof enough to freeze through, and flexible enough to release the ice cube afterwards. If you manage to get one of these out in the wild, please tell us how!
