Space X– Logo display and stand Two files: Space X Logo.stl Mounting Plate.stl The Space X Logo.stl has the individual letters and stylised X logo. You may need to rotate the letters 90 degrees so they lie flat on your build plate. Ensure the top of the letters are facing up when you print. You will getter a better finish and will not need supports. The Mounting Plate.stl is a simple plate with notched holes for you to insert the letters. Depending on the accuracy and tunning of your printer you may need to sand the letters a little to get them to fit snug. The letters from my print snapped in after a very light sand on the short edges only. You should not need any glue. To get a good finish I sandpaper the letter surfaces and the mounting plate firstly with 200 grit paper followed by 400 grit and then finally a very short sand with 600 grit. This is optional and dependent and the quality of your print and how fussy you are with a final finish. I painted the letters using Tamiya Acrylic model paint. I used XF-18 Medium blue for the letters and XF-66 light grey for the stylised "launch" slash of the x You can paint the mounting plate any colour you like. I have painted one black and one white, and I must say I prefer the white one. Note, the mounting plate is 240mm long, so you will need a printer with a print width of at least that to print this, or you will need to scale down both parts uniformly. All I ask of you if you use this in any way to give me credit and if you make one please post a picture of your build, I would really like to see what they look like and where you display it! Also please do not on sell, this is a copy righted logo and you should not gain financially from its sale. You would be stealing from Space X, and how could anyone do that with their noble mission at hand! Enjoy!
