### **Why Do You Need Spark Plug Tags?** If you have to ask you either don't do your own engine maintenance, are very young, or are fortunate enough to have labeled your plug wires before each and every tune up you've done. By way of super short explanation for those fortunate people, the order in which plug wires are attached to a distributor (or coil pack) is not sequential. The firing order of spark plugs/pistons in an engine is designed to balance the combustion forces. This keeps our little primary mover from prematurely breaking down. It also reduces the Noise, Vibration, and Harshness perceived by drivers and passengers. Some plug wires come labeled out of the box. Most do not. The usual frustration begins when the home mechanic realizes he has just removed every plug wire from the distributor end (again!) before remembering to grab the shop label maker (blue painters' tape and sharpie). At this point we have to look for a firing order diagram in a service manual, ask on a forum, or resort to google images and hope. ### **For us poor, unfortunate souls :** For those ladies and gentlemen who wasted time reading the first section, I have a solution for you! These tags fit just snug enough to stay on 7mm plug wires and printing them in ABS/ASA/Nylon should handle the heat at the distributor. Numbered 1 - 8 to cover most every engine on the market. I printed them with the number facing down so that supports were not necessary. That is how the stl files are oriented. I hope these little gems help many of us avoid extra work in the future.
