https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5512413 SPD cleat cover protects the spd cleat and protects the floor you are walking on. It fits all Shimano compatible two-bolt spd cleats (sh-51, sh-56, etc) With the cleat covers, the walking is more comfortable and no longer have that scraping noise on concrete that happens with bare SPD cleats. The cleat does not crackle on the concrete. Walking on a surface covered with tiles carries the risk that the cleat will damage the tiles. For this reason, some stores also state that you must not enter the shop with cycling shoes. The cleat cover hides the metal cleat from the floor, eliminating the risk of ceramic damage. A video how to insert and remove the cleat covers: https://youtu.be/8Fn2HwzVP-A So far, I have walked tens of kilometers with them on concrete and tiles (daily two km, from the bicycle shed to my work-desk and back) but so far I don't see any serious wearing on the cleat cover. Two stl files differ in thickness of base (1.2 and 1.6 mm). I use the 1.2 mm one. The thicker likely lasts longer, but may you feel it during walk on hard surface... Update 14.10.2022 Made of rubber-like plastic. I printed them with two different filaments. The black one is TPE, the yellow one is TPU. The yellow one is a bit harder, less flexible, but it seems to have more durability after about 30 km of walking.... The black is softer, just for testing.
