Speaker Lens for Onkyo SKS-HT588 hight speaker

The purpose of this speaker lens is to optimize the directivity of sound coming from the height speakers in my Dolby Atmos speaker setup. The reason why I want to achieve better directivity is that in my opinion too much sound is emitting from the position of the speaker and not the ceiling. Therefor I have tried to project more of the sound upwards to the ceiling so the Dolby Atmos effect would be larger. Of course I could just buy ceiling speakers and put them up in the ceiling but I think the hight speaker concept is a much more elegant and simple solution therefor I tried to see how much I cloud improve this concept. Before I came to the solution I have uploaded here, I have tried many different concepts but in the end the concept of the speaker lens worked the best. I am not an audio expert so i have tried my best trough trial and error and found that for these speakers the focal point worked best as sketched (8mm from the top of the surround membrane) it could be that this is not the optimum but it definitely has a positive impact on directivity.To understand how soundwaves radiates from a speaker I have found this article very usefull:https://www.holosonics.com/fundamental-limitations-of-loudspeaker-directivityThis article describes how different frequencies radiates from a driver and it also describes that a very large speaker/lens is needed to focused the low frequencies which is very inconvenient. I have also found that my lens performs decent at focusing the high frequencies but have a hard time with the low frequencies which the theory also says but distortion wise it actually also performs quite well and keep the sound very little distorted.But the best feature about the lens is that it can be concealed behind the fabric so the esthetics is preserved.But it definitely has a positive impact on directing the sound to the ceiling and have thereby improved the Dolby Atmos effect in my mind.
