An experiment to remodel a spectacle case for gas mask's glasses. The original is made of 0,5 mm thick steel sheet metal. My target was to make a new, similar design for 3D-Printing (ABS-Plastic) with a wall thickness of 1 mm.I don't know whether I reach my target, and how stable this design really can be, but I want to try it out and I'm very interested to see the result. The 3D-prints will be done by www.fabberhouse.de, because I don't have a 3D-Printer. But what, however, isn't can yes yet in the future. The background for this adapted design is a personal use for my second slip-on sun glasses. For my first slip-on sun glasses I already use the original, from times of my military service (over 40 years ago).Unfortunately a FEM-analysis can't be done by myself, but could be very interesting, whether the wall thickness is big enough or not.Available 3D-data:STEP file of the complete assemblyand the native files for users of »PTC Creo Parametric 2.0«Likes and/ or comments are very much appreciated.
