A printable version of the mini-spectrometer offered by Public Labs. Allows profiling of visible light into spectral bands to determine wavelength and composition. Far more science then what I was able to absorb but I thought the mini-spectrometer was a good challenge. Once assembled tape a piece of aluminum foil over the closed end with a thin cut through it, the instructions say a 0.2mm slot is required for proper operation.
