SphereLamp2

SphereLamp2

pinshape

This is a modified version of https://pinshape.com/items/53353-3d-printed-spherelamp1, with one key change: I wanted to let the lamp shine brighter, so I enlarged and thinned out the spheres and added holes around their top circumference. Additionally, I increased the size of the vertical column to allow even more light into the upper two spheres. Finally, I removed the base at the bottom that held the LED light; this reduced print time by about 45 minutes and also made it possible for most any type of LED puck light to fit. Note that this lamp is 324 mm tall, so it requires a fairly large printer to print it full scale. Since the base is larger than standard puck LED lights, you can easily scale it down if needed. This lamp printed in just under 13.5 hours using a print speed of 80 mm/sec and a layer height of 0.200 mm. This lamp is designed to hold any one of several LED lights called "puck" lights, which can be powered by either batteries or wall power. You can find links for wall-powered lights that work well on this blog page: http://birkbinnard.com/blog/wall-powered-led-lights/.
