Sphericon 04 (Hexagon Based)
cults3d
The sphericon is a solid with a continuous developable surface featuring two congruent semicircular edges and four vertices defining a square. It belongs to a unique family of rollers that, when rolled on a flat surface, bring all points of their surface into contact with the surface they're rolling on. This particular sphericon, like some others I'll be sharing, is roughly based on a hexagon. By placing circles in the corners and center, connected by splines, I added visual interest to its design. Additionally, I incorporated cutouts around the outer circles, swiped around the central axis as usual. I created these designs a while back but wasn't sure if I should share them or not. It was primarily about practicing with Fusion 360 and having some fun prints or giveaways. Now that I've made up my mind, I'm uploading them for everyone to enjoy. Of course, I shamelessly borrowed the idea from Maker's Muse, so be sure to check out their video and give it a thumbs up or subscribe if you like their content.
