This design draws direct inspiration from an ancient ivory sphinx, its origins waiting to be uncovered at the specified source: employees.oneonta.edu/farberas/arth/ARTH209/Orientalizing_sculpture.html. Simply scroll down a bit to explore it in detail. As I worked on this project, a sudden realization struck me - this design could easily pass as a Pokémon from around 700BCE.
