Spin Bike Resistance Scale

Spin Bike Resistance Scale

This is a resistance meter for Freemotion S11.8 commercial grade studio spin bikes. I have not tested it out on it yet, but it was designed with measurements and 3d scans. The screws that are used are M5X65 socket head screws, but you could get away with shorter ones probably. The nuts are M5 square nuts. The screw that holds the indicator on is a 4.8X19 self tapping screw since that is what I have on hand. You can experiment with other screws. You will need to experiment with the rubber band, but I think the flat length should be about 80 mm. Update: I have tried it on the spin bike, and there needs to be a few small changes. If I have time, I'll work on it. Update 4-5-22: I realized that a problem that I will have is calibration: determining the scale to be used. I have a feeling that this could generally be reliant on the bike itself as some might have more friction. To fix this, I might try to include a simple way like moving indicators or press in indicators to make it so that it can be easily calibrated. If I have time, I might try to include those changes. These changes are included with some other major changes like adding bearings to make the indicator action more smooth.
