The purpose, being that this would have a wide appeal to many people, with a variety of needs for it. The solution the spin ring provides applies to many individuals. It helps those with ADHD and similar conditions stay focused, it helps stressed individuals keep occupied, and helps calm Obsessive compulsive disorders and similar compulsive actions. The way the spin ring provides these solutions, is through a simple movement on the device as the user wears it. The user can spin the piece, and it will help them remove their attention from things that stress and or distract them, or from compulsive tendencies, and re apply their attention effectively first to the ring, and then onto to more important tasks in their daily life.
