Spiral fractal based on an affine IFS

thingiverse

A spiral fractal generated using an affine iterated functional system described on the Yale websitehttp://classes.yale.edu/fractals/labs/SpiralsLab/SpiralsLab.html . It's really a 2D fractal but I use a box-shaped initiator and show the iterations progressing upward in the third dimension. Printed on a Form1+ at Centre College in association with a course on chaotic dynamics and fractal geometry. Instructions Using Matlab the transformations are iteratively applied to the vertices of triangles covering the initiator cube. The Matlab script outputs an ascii stl file one triangle at a time.
