Split Square Tree
thingiverse
The intricate pattern begins as a single square, which rapidly divides into four separate pieces that shoot upward at an angle, forming four new squares in the process. This division continues unabated until 256 identical squares are formed at the very pinnacle of the sculpture. Typically, I display it upside-down after printing, but I've never attempted to print it this way before - perhaps you'd like to give it a try! Bonus fact: The cross-sectional area from the bottom to the top remains precisely the same due to the effect of these repeated divisions. Additionally, the sculpture measures exactly one square inch in size. Printer Settings: Printer: Flashforge Creator Pro Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2-0.3 mm Infill: 20%-100% Notes: To achieve a visually appealing print, I utilize Simplify3D settings to vary the infill percentage for each division. Starting with 20% infill at the base, I gradually increase it to 30%, then 50%, followed by 80% and finally 100%. This approach prevents lengthy prints or hollow tips from forming on the ends.
