I just whipped up a simple spool bracket that fits perfectly in my mini maker space. It's designed specifically for those dual towel rods I have on the wall. XL version is already here: I've got some filament on 9cm wide spools, unlike the more common (my experience) 6.5cm wide spools. The regular bracket will hold spools up to about 7.5cm across, and the XL bracket is now available for spools up to about 10cm across.
