Spool Drill Winder

Spool Drill Winder

thingiverse

Just another filament spool winder you can use with a drill. This is a remix of my PrintDry Pro spool adapter (which in turn was a remix of a Thingiverse design by Skrutt84: Ender 3 - Filament holder DELUXE). This winder will fit spools with center holes up to about 80mm diameter. Use with a typical hex key bit (use a longer bit if possible as will be more stable). Gluing an old bit into the hex hole will save some time and fix the hex bit in place. I used PLA but any filament material will work fine. Use the best thread printing settings for your printer. I used 0.2mm layer height, 4 perimeters (with extra perimeters if needed enabled), and 30% infill…as this seemed to work well on my MK3S for the threads. Mar 27/22: User Pampersrocker noticed that the internals of the rod was overly complicated (when blending some parts together for the rod design, it included some unnecessary internal threads) causing longer print times and more filament than required. V2 of the rod fixes this (it is similar to the remix Pampersrocker provided above but with a few more minor changes)…the outside remains the same. You'll find good savings on the print time and filament used using V2.
