My Ultimaker Original was equipped with a big enough spool holder for 2kg PLA reels, something that isn't standard on the Ultimaker 2+, which I recently purchased. Luckily, one of the nice things about 3D printing is that you make your own tools. Hence, a spool holder for 2kg reels, designed on the basis of the original spool holder. UPDATE Using big reels will cause problems with filament not being guided properly into the filament feeder. My solution can be found here.
