Update 03/08/19 - Have resized the dimensions one the filament-guide, so now it will be better slide over the filament-guide-holder Update 03/07/19 - Have resized the dimensions of the filament-guide-holder (to tight on the axis) - Have resized the dimensions of the bearing-cover (to tight on the axis) Update 03/06/19 - Have update the ring adapter files. The inner diameter was to tight. Now it should fit better. - Have added a bearing cover for the right side. No functional part, only a cover for the bearing. Update 03/02/19 Have resized the side-filament-guide-holder, was quite to small... In Addition I have resized the Ring-Adapter. Now it exists in different sizes. The base size is the 30 mm ring. Now you can combine with other sizes to get the correct size of the spool. 250 g spool 30mm ring plus 10 mm ring 1000 g spool 30mm ring plus 35 mm ring 2600/4000 g spool 30mm ring plus 70 mm ring ---- After a lot of diverse iterations of my own designed spool holders (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2742769) and other not published designs I was looking for a solution to handle big spools over 2.6 kg. I'll print a lot and so I have seen a 8 kg spool from 3djake. So I designed a spool holder to handle the measures of diameter 35 cm and a width of 18 cm . The inner diameter of the 8kg spool is 36 mm. Most of my spools I used from 300g up to 4 kg have an inner diameter of 51mm. I added a ring adapter to pull over. In addition I have added a filament guide to prevent unwinding of the filament from the spool, but only in theory ! I must run tests, so currently its not the perfect solution. I added STL Files and the 123d design files. So please remix it if you want. I'm not happy with the design, but it works. I use bearings 6003Z 35 mm outer diameter, 17 mm inner diameter and 10 mm width. The spool-half will be put together with wooden dowels with diameter of 6mm and a core axis of 12 mm diameter, you can use what will fit into ;) To change the spool you can simply lift up the axis with the bearings. Not the perfect print, but to test my design its ok. Please comment improvements or ideas.
