The idea is to ease the spool turning - lately with 2017 filament I'm having issues with extruder not being able to pull the spool and thus under-extruding This is for 2017 RoHS 1kg spools I will look into making this customizable, but for now you can edit FreeCAD files for your diameters and the "wheel" height Inner diameter: 10mm Outer diameter: 53.5 Height: 65mm Filament: RoHS(1.75mm PLA china, 2017 batch) Update: turned out pretty good - the spool now rotates freely and therefor no more issues with extrusion.
